Even during the rainy season, which runs between April and December, the mornings are usually cloud-free though, as in all tropical destination, a shower is likely to break out and cool things off.  Another great feature of this beautiful country is there are no hurricanes to worry about as the country is located outside that particular region.

Panama is additionally a good vacation spot for nature lovers, as the country is known for its biodiversity. The country’s name is even thought to have derived from a local term that means an abundance of something but the jury is still out on whether or not the item in question is fish, trees, or butterflies.

Native species that can be found here also include rare frogs and a wide variety of orchids. However, if fishing is more your speed, do the ecosystem a favor and try your hand at catching the imported bass that have been making a nuisance of themselves in Gatún Lake by running off all the native species.

Panama is additionally a popular destination for adventure-sport lovers with available activities including white water rafting and rock climbing.

Local artworks that visitors might want to bring home include traditional appliqued cloths known as molas and handmade woven baskets. The country is also well known for their chocolate and coffee.
