My favorite food…Italian. I absolutely cannot resist the delicious taste of homemade pasta, savory red sauce, and irresistible pastries. Whenever we travel I make it my mission to find a good Italian restaurant. Here are some of the best places we’ve discovered in this week’s addition of Gastronome Wednesday ~ Tantalizing Italian

Outside Capricci

Let’s start at home. One of Singapore’s best Italian restaurants is Capricci – Italiano Ristorante. What the small restaurant lacks in size it makes up for in the quality of its food and service. Each meal is prepared with expertise and closely inspected for perfection by the restaurant’s director Massimo Aquaro. No matter how packed the restaurant is, and believe me, its ALWAYS packed, Massimo always takes the time to visit your table to make sure you’re happy with your food.

osteria-front

Nestled inside the Art Deco District of South Beach sits an award winning Italian restaurant that boasts homemade food using recipes carefully carried over from the homeland. Osteria del Teatro is a 30 seat restaurant with truly amazing dishes.

Fettuccine con Gamberoni in salsa di Aragosta

One of my favorites is the Fettuccine con Gamberoni in salsa di
Aragosta (Fettucinie with Jumbo Shrimp in a pink and creamy lobster sauce). It is truly to die for!

osteria-restorante-Italiano

Tucked behind the Holiday Inn located behind Chungking Mansions in Sha Tsui, Hong Kong sits an Italian restaurant that serves unbelievably authentic food given its location; after all Hong Kong is better known for its Asian dishes. But for those who are or love Italian, Osteria (yes, another of the same name!) is the place to go when you need to Mangiare (eat).

soloperpassione-osteria
I tried the ravioli with ricotta cheese and spinach with butter sage sauce and thought I had died and gone to Italian food heaven! The raviolies melt in your mouth and the explosion of fresh ricotta cheese and spinach made my tongue dance!

Doughnut-Donut-Gelato-7

To end things I had their unusual but delicious Italian doughnut served with silky caramel gelato; the homemade delicacy was worth the extra calories!

Italian food in Aruba, seriously?! This amazing little place took me by surprise when my craving kicked in while visiting.

Casa Tua copy

Margarita pizza

Casa Tua is an excellent place for great antipasti, pizza’s and entrees. I tried one of their wood fire pizzas and loved it. It was crispy and perfectly cooked.

Tiramisu

I also indulged in the Tiramisu and was not disappointed. It was creamy and light and hit the spot.
