Cleveland is a foodie town for sure but it’s also a city that loves their sports. Check out one of the best places to enjoy both – The Butcher and the Brewer – Beer, Food, and Sports.

I’m a traveler and foodie and I love nothing more than exploring a new city to find out where the locals like to grab a mug and some great grub.

Walking into The Buther and the Brewer I understood immediately why it’s a local favorite.

Seating is picnic style to encourage conversations with strangers. I also love the plate sharing…the owners and managers of this place got it right!

I grabbed a spot near the back so I could get a feel for the atmosphere and settled in to enjoy some of the marvelous smells that were permeating the air.

The service is quick but definitely attentive and heartfelt. My waiter explained the menu, told me that it was shareable and each portion was large and bold!

This place is definitely for foodies!

Good Eats

Working with local farmers to ensure that each bite is fresh, organic, and animals are humanely treated, the chefs create delicious versions of all things shucked, cured, and cultured.

I enjoyed a variety of delicious treats like flatbreads, (my fav: Pierogi – mashed potato, caramelized onions, mozzarella, cheddar, creme fraiche).

Good Drinks

The onsight brewery is a wonderful addition to the eclectic variety of beers that the establishment creates. The building was once a department store and it’s elegant original staircase leads down to an amazing brewery.

The house-made beers are endless and, if you’re a beer lover, there’s something for every palette.

Try the ALBINO STOUT. It’s a full-bodied white oat ale with chocolate and coffee overtones. It’s among the favs of those who are beer consumers.

If beer isn’t your thing (and it’s not mine but I brought along my VERY agreeable brother to help with the tasting) the brewery offers an array of drinks.

I can recommend the SQUEEZE MY LEMON a house-made Lemoncello, made with lemon curd, OYO Honey Vanilla Vodka, vanilla extract and Zardetto Cuvee Brut. TO DIE FOR!!!

Even A Butcher Shop

As if the great food and wonderful drinks aren’t enough, The Butcher and the Brewer have a butcher shop so you can enjoy their fresh cut, local, organic meats at home.

After you’ve indulged yourself on all the goodies, watched a game on one of the many large screen TVs hanging over the long bar or made a new friend with someone at your community table, walk the few feet to a smiling butcher and have him or her wrap up a hunk of something tender and delicious to prepare at home.

I can’t sing the praises of Cleveland and 4th street enough these days and my visit to The Butcher and the Brewer was one of my favorite stops to hang out with my bro and relax after a long work day..okay HIS long work day; my life is full of enjoying sponsorships like these!
