As a small Asian country one would expect to find delicious, authentic Asian food and Singapore does not disappoint. But what might not be expected is to find authentic, delicious food from countries outside of Asia. I set out to search the island for as many restaurants featuring food from other countries as I could find.

Outside Locha Loco

Walking around the historic district of Tanjong Pagar, located within the Central Business District of Singapore, I stumbled upon Lucha Loco (which translates to crazy fight) a Mexican restaurant perched on a hill at the end of Duxton Hill Road.

Wide shot of bar

Venturing in the first thing I noticed was the unique bar that takes up most of the left wall. Word to the wise…get there early, especially on the weekend, it gets busy quickly after 6 PM. Not to worry though, there is plenty of seating both inside and out.

Mango and Snapper Ceviche

I was very impressed with the food. The Mango and Snapper Ceviche were delicious as were the hand cut chips! I had the Toastaditas, both chicken and crab and loved them. They had just the right kick! Lucha Loco has some very interesting desserts and I recommend you try them all!

Crab tostaditas

The service was awesome which can be somewhat spotty in Singapore. The servers and manager were very personable and happy to chat in between seating the many people streaming in.

If I had to give my opinion about any improvements the only thing I would say is that all the food came out at the same time not allowing for patrons to enjoy the appetizers first; slowing down the delivery of the food would make for a better experience. But that is minor when considering that the food was exceptional.

Lucha Loco

I highly recommend Lucha Loco for authentic Mexican and a great place to hang out for drinks.
